Charity Performance for Sichuan earthquake victims
On May 12th, 2008, a sudden disaster falling on Sichuan province in China, a strong earthquake destroyed homes in 30,000 square miles. Tens of thousands of people lost their lives, and the infrastructure was almost completely destroyed.
The Chorus of Love for Grassland, a famous Mongolian Performing Arts group, will come to Chicago for charity performance to raise fund for Sichuan earthquake disaster relief. The Chorus was founded 1999 by ethnic Mongolian and people that are dedicated to the preservation of Mongolian Prairie. The Chorus has performed more than 100 times and won numerous awards including First place finish in Beijing TV Talent Showcase competition, 2003; Silver Award at the 3rd International Choir Olympic, Bremen, Germany 2004; Silver Award at Beijing Chorus Festival in 2005. They also performed at two charity events in 2001, 2007. The Chorus is invited by Asian Festival in Columbus, Ohio as the featured performance group. http://asian-festival.org/index.do After the performance during the Memorial weekend, they will come to Chicago to perform for the benefits of Sichun (Wengchuan) Earthquake victims. Yellow River Performing Arts and Chicago Fudan Alumni Association will sponsor and organize this excellent show. ACSE will be the co-organizer. All the profit and donation will go to rebuilding of the elementary school systems in the affected area. The profit and donation details will be announced and published on some local news paper and the website http://www.fudan-chicago.org to make it open and transparent.
Our hearts go to the Sichuan earthquake victims. Love has no borders. Please lend a helping hand to Sichuan earthquake victims and join us to make this charity performance a success.

凝聚爱心，祈福灾民“倾听草原”赈灾义演
2008年5月12日，四川汶川及周围县市发生强烈地震，数万四川人民不幸遇难，更多的伤者、幸存者无家可归。
患难见真情，全球华人心系受灾同胞，全世界都含着眼泪，关注着受灾的民众。让我们凝聚爱心，让我们都献出自己的一份力量，帮助灾区的人民走出困苦，迎来美好的明天。
黄河艺术团和芝加哥复旦校友会原计划邀请北京草原恋合唱团在芝加哥演出，展现蒙古民族特色和草原自然风情。四川地震牵动了大洋两岸华人的心弦，黄河艺术团、芝加哥复旦校友会和已经获签证的北京草原恋合唱团一致决定将演出改为义演，向灾区人民伸出救援之手，把希望带给灾区人民。旅美华人科学家工程师专业人士协会也将积极地协助义演活动。
在四川地震中，学校是重灾区，重建校园是一项艰巨的任务。黄河艺术团提议将筹集到的捐款用于建设希望小学，保证将捐款落实在重建灾区上。在1998年特大洪灾后，黄河艺术团举办义演，用筹集的捐款在受灾最重的江西九江兴建希望小学，有效地为重建灾区贡献力量。
黄河艺术团是享有501(c)(3)免税资格的组织，可出示捐款证明用于抵税。将设立专门委员会以公开透明的方式管理捐款，公布捐款名单和数额，把筹集到的捐款和票务收入置于公众的监督之下。
义演阵容强大。主要演出团体北京草原恋合唱团享名中外，在德国不来梅举行的第三届奥林匹克国际合唱节中获得有表演民俗合唱银奖和男声合唱银奖。黄河艺术团艺术指导金秋月将组织“千手观音”和其他舞蹈表演，让大家伸出千万只援手，齐力救助灾区人民。黄河艺术团艺术指导中国国家一级演员周灵燕，也将登台与观众互动，将演出推向高潮。两位复旦校友青歌赛北美冠军李翊和香港华协会歌唱比赛季军左宇将倾情演唱。其他团体也积极地加入演出，著名的北斗功夫学院将带来精湛的武术表演。
芝加哥民众十分支持本次义演，头一天热心的朋友们就捐款3700美元，已经基本上足够支付场地费等必要的演出费用，以后的捐款和票务收入基本上可以都用于支持灾区重建。组织者承诺一定要把演出办好，一定要把捐款和票务收入用在灾区重建上。让芝加哥的朋友们手拉手，同灾区人民心连心，把希望带给灾区人民，兴建希望小学把光明的未来带给灾区的新一代。
